For now, look to intelligent machines to help reduce overhead costs in the manufacturing / service industries. Part of this intelligence will allow autonomy, where the robot isn’t attached to the floor, and also much more nimble in design and application. For instance, able to adjust the seats in a car on the assembly line, and then go to each attachment point and position a fastener precisely and with the right amount of torque.
